WHO YOU ARE

We are looking to welcome co-workers to join our fantastic Safety and Security team.

In the IKEA world, we call this position a Safety and Security Co-worker.


WHAT WE OFFER
• £10.10 basic hourly rate
• Living Wage Foundation Employer

24 hours working 5 days out of 7 and 3 out of 4 weekends availability between 7.00 am – 10.00 pm
30 hours working 5 days out of 7 and 3 out of 4 weekends availability between 7.00 am – 10.00 pm

We operate 7 days a week to meet the shopping needs of our customers, this role will require availability to work during the day, late evenings, and full weekends.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

• Security industry knowledge is required, this may be in the form of working in contract security, private sector or control room monitoring stations.
• Health and Safety knowledge is not essential as training will be given but it would be preferred. This may be training in IOSH, Safety Management Systems or working with risk assessments.
• The most important requirements are full availability, which will help us cover all operational hours of the function, passion for the role, a desire to learn and develop and computer literacy.
• You have a high standard of written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and analytical, problem-solving skills.
• An ability to work in a self-directive environment to resolve problems and to complete tasks within deadlines, an ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
• Ability to react to an emergency situation & be prepared to make decisions.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

The Safety and Security team are a diverse and detail driven group of people who strive to keep our people and assets safe.
You would be joining a team with a wide range of talents, expertise, and goals, who will offer support all the way throughout your career in the Safety and Security team.

• You meet and greet all persons entering the store and maintain visitor, contractor and co-worker access to and from the store.
• You monitor fire safety & security systems, respond to alarms and initiate emergency response without delay and support the Safety & Security function in store through monitoring and review of CCTV and other security infrastructure.
• You are responsible for the recording of incidents and accidents; maintaining the Incident Reporting System and assist with Loss Prevention and detection of offenders.
• You will carry out administrative duties, including audits, reports, maintaining and filing records and support the stores daily operations.
