To support the IKEA goods availability to relevant stakeholders for the fulfillment of the agreed service level to IKEA customer, establishing the customs process and deliver operation excellence by smooth and efficient border-crossing activity at lowest cost, meanwhile fully complying with relevant laws and regulations in local country.

Job description

To lead country customs team to manage import and export related affairs in the objective to achieve customs clearance efficiency, cost effectiveness and customs compliance.

To secure the team deliveries according to IKEA Strategy, Business Plan, Customs 2020 by developing business and people together.


Your assignment

  • Lead and develop operation team in accordance with “Leading Business & People Together”, ensure competence meet current and future business needs
  • Engage in establishment of one common COSC AP business plan and deliver agreed business results
  • Manage centralized import/export activities in compliance with internal and external regulations
  • Ensure centralized import/export activities are organized in an optimal way for efficiency and internal control
  • Monitor efficient and reliable handling of customs related data, documents and certificates
  • Continuously evaluate current ways of working, develop solutions and implement improvement, identify business opportunities.
  • Actively identify and manage risks related to import and export activities
  • Actively work with stakeholders, to provide customs operation expertise to contribute to IKEA business development
  • Ensure close collaboration and good engagement from country customs teams and other stakeholders
  • Establish KPI’s, monitor operation performance and communicate in the organization.
  • Ensure the competence development for the team and fulfil other people agenda

Your profile

A     Knowledge

  • Proven ability to lead and inspire people
  • Good understanding and knowledge about supply chain operations
  • Good knowledge about customs operations on AP regional level
  • Knowledge and experience with change management

You have

  • Over 8 years working experience in import, export or logistics area
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire people
  • Excellent communication skills with internal and external parties
  • Previous experience of working in a regional or global environment
  • Previous experience from working in a process-oriented organization
  • Fluent in English (both speaking and writing)
