• Previous retail experience required.
• Passion for Home Furnishing, Customer Centric thinking and behaviours, care and empathy for people.
• Previous leadership of large teams or groups required.
• Needs to have proven track record of developing high level leaders.
• Ability to drive a high-volume business and the acumen to drive P&L results.
• Experience of working in a commercial role in an organization, including previous senior management
• experience.
• Proven record of consistently meeting agreed budgets and goals, and working on plans over a number of
• years.
• Setting and implementing action plans and providing clear direction and following up goals.
• Proven record of successful leadership in a people-centric organization.
• Experience of leading in a changing environment.
• Proven ability to prioritize and organize work and the work of others in order to make the most efficient use of time available.
• Ability to engage a receiver by creating a passion for your plans and to inspire others.


• Represent the Retail country as a spokesperson and external representative for all Ingka entities within the designated area of responsibility.
• Connect the IKEA offer with our knowledge of people’s life at home and use all the dimensions of the IKEA Concept to make the IKEA Brand unique and special in the meeting with the customer.
• Secure a seamless and positive customer experience through all channels across several IKEA Markets within an Area by ensuring that the organization is always striving to fulfil the IKEA customer motivators, i.e. “Is it worth it?”, “Can I trust IKEA”, “Is there something for me?”
• Inspire the organization to have and show our passion for retailing so that every day and in a simple way we are close to our products, customers and co-workers.
• Leads the business in a lean and simple way by using the foundation of the IKEA concept, best practices, the Country Service Office, and global functions and services to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of the total Ingka ecosystem.
• Share entrepreneurial ideas and express opportunities for improvement on current ways of working while at the same time challenging the organization to improve and identifying and develop new business opportunities and commercial potentials.
• Ensure an optimal and efficient logistics fulfilment that shortens the lead time and cost to serve to our customers.
• Secure competent and high-performing teams and leaders who inspire and empower every co-worker to recognise and understand their contribution.
• Live the IKEA values and nurture a strong and thriving IKEA culture that inspires people to extraordinary achievements.
• Identify and develop the many talents within the organization to secure succession planning.
• Ensures that all units work ethically and in compliance with internal and external laws including legislation relating to risk, health and safety.
• Develops, leads and delivers growth, low cost and sustainable profitability in accordance with our overall purpose, retail direction and our financial strategy across several IKEA Market within an Area to maximize the growth and potential of the Market P&L and Country P&L.
